We have paid staff, volunteers and peers covering a huge range of roles. YOU Counselling Management Team
Becs is the You Counselling Centres Clinical Lead. As an experienced Manager, a trauma-informed counsellor and clinical supervisor she is a part of the YOU leadership team.
She manages our large team of counsellors and clinical supervisors, ensuring effective, safe and ethical counselling practice is continuously delivered to high standards.
Becs' background in the counselling field spans over 25 years within FE/HE Education, NHS and local charities.
Kristieanne is the YOU Counselling Team Manager. Her experience managing from the front line include Sales, Marketing, Operations and Therapeutic support. She is part of the leadership team responsible for the delivery of the Single Point of contact team, ensuring a cohesive and effective front door response to individuals, families and professionals accessing counselling. Kristieanne's background includes pastoral and support work with young people accessing counselling. Having over 14 years’ experience in therapeutic support, customer facing, voluntary work, administration, working with children and young people, and management.
Kieran is an experienced Team Manager, having worked in a variety of management roles. This included working in Adult Services for Hampshire County Council. Kieran is also studying a degree in Psychology at The Open University.
As part of the leadership team, Kieran is responsible for supporting with the line management of the therapeutic/support teams. This includes ensuring that there is safe and ethical delivery for all YOU Counselling interventions.
Kieran is responsible for the delivery of the therapeutic groups and programmes and ensuring that there is appropriate support for clients to access these groups. Kieran oversees the delivery of work with our volunteers and peer mentors. He also works on grant projects to ensure that we are working towards contract obligations/deadlines.
Matthew Thompson is a YOU Counselling Supervisor, a trauma-informed counsellor and clinical supervisor.
Matthew has been in counselling for 20 years, working for much of that time with young people in schools and colleges. In more recent years, he’s been working with in the field of sexual trauma and Domestic Abuse.
Once a month, Matthew helps run a retreat which helps support clients in a more holistic way, with activities such as Yoga, art therapy, mindfulness meditation and shamanic drumming. These retreats always bring such a great sense of peace and connectedness with all who attend and is one of Mathew’s favourite things to do.
Here enjoys running STAR’s psycho educational courses: Starting with You and Growing with You, which enable clients with a deeper understanding of trauma and its impact on the mind and body.
He’s currently working towards gaining a Certificate in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision with CPCAB.
