Survivor Voices

Survivor voices are important to us for many reasons. They show how strong the people we work with are, which can be very affirming for those seeking help. And they also help us to develop new approaches and course to help.

Below are some thoughts, poems, and pieces of art from the people we have worked with.

Thank you so much for your trust in us and your dedication to recovery.

“I am now able to see who I truly am, and stop the negative mind talk when I experience moments. Which in the past I was unable to control. I now know that I am worthy, and enough, which allows me to have a more positive attitude towards my everyday life”

“Very welcoming people and interesting workshops. I felt OK being me, and taking time out when needed.”

“I have learned to communicate feelings and emotions better, which was always so hard to do. I have learned to better manage and be back in charge of myself. My life, for myself. I’ve learned I can cope now.”

I am incredibly grateful to have had Becs as my counsellor. Her exceptional communication skills and extensive experience have been transformative in my life. With her guidance, I have gained invaluable tools and support to reach the point I aspired to and needed to be in my life. The implementation of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) was particularly life-changing, enabling me to let go of past traumas and embark on a journey of healing and growth.

The counselling I received was instrumental in identifying areas that needed attention and providing the necessary support to address them. It provided a safe and non-judgmental space where I could openly express myself, something I had never experienced before. One of the key factors that contributed to the effectiveness of the counselling, in my opinion, was my willingness to put in the hard work, confront difficult emotions, and maintain a strong desire to achieve happiness. It truly felt like a collaborative effort, with Becs acting as a dedicated counsellor who genuinely cared about my well-being and had my best interests at heart.
